It Takes Two: Advice from a Twin Mama

As a twin-mama, I have first-hand experience realizing that you do NOT need two of everything, and you waste some money here and there. However, here are a few of my MUST-HAVES from when my kiddos were tiny that I certainly did need two of.

  1. 2 GOOD Swings! We had a spare lower quality one, that worked fine. However, when your kiddos are itty bitty, you need a swing with all the bells and whistles for everyone's sanity. These 4Moms mamaRoo Swings are perfect for your infants! There were so many different motions, you can control from your couch (on the smartphone app). It was definitely worth investing in two. Also, don't wait until right before you give birth to order the infant inserts, like I did!

2. 2 Good Bottle Warmers! If you use bottles in the middle of the night, you need them warmed quickly! This double bottle warmer came in handy right away! I will also link the Baby Breeza that all of my friends swear by!

3. 2 Good Sleep Sacks for each stage of their infant sleep! Newborn to 3-6 months we loved their HALO sleep sacks. We bought them in the fleece for the cold months, and the cotton for the warmer. Then, as they got bigger we got the Nested Bean Zen Sleep sacks that use for them until they were about a year. These serve as their blankets to keep the babies safe, and give them the womb-like coziness they are yearning for in those early months.

4. 2 Good Tummy-Time Piano Mats! Babies should have tummy-time to help strengthen their neck muscles for short periods of time from the very beginning of their lives. These piano mats of course help with that, and also are so entertaining for the babies. They also help support with newborn and infant growth in many other ways as well.

I promise that these suggestions are from my experience parenting two small babes at one time. I do not think I am an expert, but I did a lot of experience parenting from day 1 of these kiddos' lives. I LOVE being their mama, and have always sought after other parents' advice about things. I feel like now is my time to pass on my words of wisdom, take it or leave it.
